Getting Serious About Capital Fundraising for Small Ys
Dave Sternberg and Adam Clevenger, CFRE, of Loring, Sternberg and Associates

There is a reason most organizations ever only do one capital campaign or wait decades before their next. Capital campaigns take time and resources that most small Ys can only dedicate once in a generation. Testing feasibility, developing a compelling case, identifying prospects, recruiting volunteers, and finally asking for gifts is daunting to a Y with a small or no development staff. However, campaigns can be done and done successfully, even in a small Y. Learn how to develop donors before a capital campaign. Understand the basic components of a capital campaign. Gain simple tools to help ensure successful fundraising.

Tourists, Travelers and Guides - A Volunteer Centric Approach to Cultivation
Faiza Venzant, CVA, CVRM – General Manager Volunteer Development,
YMCA of Greater Toronto

Our volunteer partners play a crucial role in helping us create healthy communities. They have direct experience with our work, understand how we animate our mission and are able to see the impact of what we do firsthand. Who better to partner with us? Who better to tell our story?  Who better to support us? And yet, many volunteers are never invited in a meaningful and customized way to deepen their connection to the Y and become donors.  Using Realized Worth’s model of the Journey of a Volunteer, we’ll explore how we can meet volunteers where they are, acknowledge their gifts of time, and then make a plan to move them towards being donors.

Targeted Audiences:
